Yellow Iris, 2010

This sunny iris totally captured me. Its red interior, like a soft mouth, beckoned. I enjoyed setting up a photo shoot with a variety of brightly colored leaves to offset the yellow of the flower. This gave my portrait a richness and depth. And the sensuous folds of the flower, juxtaposed against red, added an additional lushness.
