I guess you could say that the day I created this flower portrait I “gilded the lily.” Curious to see what would happen to my white tulip if I painted it a soft bronze, I gently brushed its petals with shimmery paint. I loved the outcome! It added a luminous flair that the unadorned tulip lacked. I don’t typically embellish my floral friends, but this one time, I reasoned, was acceptable. Apparently, other people agreed. As soon as I completed this flower portrait I sold several of my Tulip Glow fine art prints, including a few sets of glowing greeting cards.
