Sheep Reflection
Sheep Reflection, 2016
Cyanococcus
The Egyptians believed that sheep were sacred. They even had them mummified when they died, just like humans. This was meaningful to me because I had recently lost someone I loved. Creating a soft focus on this sheep, whom I affectionately call Pete, felt right to me. I further honored him and the day by transferring Pete's image onto a stretched canvas and softly painting over his expressive face.
