My mother was an antiques dealer. I grew up with a lot of carved porcelains, tarnished silver, and musty oil paintings. As I child, I did not appreciate these antiques, or the mystery they held. As an adult, however, I have come to see the rich history of a bygone era when people dressed for dinner and served their family with fine china. For this blueberry design I chose a tarnished spoon as a scoop for a few luscious berries. This was my nod to history - and to my childhood.
